In case you've missed it, Mookie Betts and Kris Bryant have been doing some pretty incredible things lately. Since the All-Star break, Betts is hitting .340/.385/.633, including a game where he went 4-for-6 with 3 homers and 8 RBI. Similarly, Bryant is hitting .336/.412/.570 since the break, including a 5-for-5 game with 2 homers and 5 RBI.

These two stretches have highlighted the impressive seasons both players are having and solidified their spot at the MVP table in their respective leagues. That's a fun discussion and one we're sure to debate on future podcasts, but today I want to look at another aspect of this. Which group of young position players would you rather have, the Cubs or Red Sox? The 23-year-old Betts and 24-year-old Bryant are just the beginning for both clubs.

Last Friday, I returned home from work and was mindlessly scrolling through my Instagram feed. That's when I came across a video that I've been unable to shake over the five days since. As a Cubs fan, this past week has been weird. When I read on Twitter that Gleyber Torres had been pulled from the Myrtle Beach Pelicans lineup last Sunday, my heart dropped. Torres' not playing meant a trade for Aroldis Chapman was imminent. And then on Monday afternoon, it became official. Since hearing the news, I've had many different thoughts run through my head. It's been very hard for me to come up with the words to describe how the Chapman trade makes me feel. So instead of giving you my take on everything, I want to pull parts of different articles I've found helpful in articulating my position.

If you tuned into the baseball highlights from yesterday, there's a decent chance you saw a couple throwback jerseys. In what MLB is calling a new annual tradition, "Turn Back the Clock day" featured eight teams wearing retro uniforms yesterday. It was a bit odd that Major League Baseball didn't promote the event, but maybe it was a test run for a bigger deal next year. The eight teams participating played against each other, so only 4 of the 16 games (doubleheader in St. Louis) had the throwbacks. Because I'm on vacation, I decided to rank the jerseys 1-8.
